Hello OSF Members,

 

Welcome to the first month of autumn. I've just received my first bucket of fresh shrimp from a neighboring fisherman - a sure sign of the changing seasons. With the beginning of another school season the 2027 calendars and planners are out in the stores. I've got a stack of them to practice on!

 

There's nothing I like more than planning things ... putting activities, events, meetings and commitments to paper with ink awakens my soul and allows for creative energy to flow through me as I dream all those things into being. You'll find a September list of activities and events in Sneads Ferry below along with an inquiry and a request from the OSF team. I trust you'll find something interesting to open the door to this month. And, I hope the season awakens your soul to pleasure, passion and purpose in your day-to-day.

SEPTEMBER EVENTS

From Bluegrass to Blues! - FREE Concert - Saturday, 9/12/26 - 12PM

The Harris Creek Bluegrass Band originally scheduled to play at the Sneads Ferry Library has postponed their performances until further notice so The Chicago Joe Blues Band with Sneads Ferry's own Joe Dorociak is stepping up to entertain us - Same Place / Same Time. Come out for some great mid-day music by local talent.


Bingo - Friday, 9/18/26 - 6PM

It's "Back to School" Month!

Come join us for Family Fun Night BINGO at the SF Community Center, 126 Park Lane, SF, NC.

DHS Wrestling is serving Pizza, snacks and drinks to fundraise in the kitchen. Forever Fit is sponsoring the game bags and gifts. Game prizes are donated by local businesses. ·      Parade (9AM) & All of the above PLUS Fireworks to close the evening!

 

Jazz Concert -Sunday, 9/27/26 - 6-7PM

The Sneads Ferry Arts Collective presents the Sneads Ferry Jazz Collective at Grindhouse Records!

 

SEPTEMBER MEETINGS

SFCC - General Meeting - 9/9/25 - 7PM

Want to know more about the Community Council and the programs they offer in Sneads Ferry? Attend their fast-paced monthly meetings at the SF Community Center, 126 Park Lane. Come get to know what the standing committees, and organizations are up to - and how you can participate.  PS - I'll be running for Chair in November. Let me know if you'd like to be a part of the excitement in 2027!

Shrimp Festival Parade - Sign Up!

The Shrimp Festival Parade is September 26!

There's still time to sign up. If you've never been a part of the parade - Make This Your Year - The More the Merrier! Reach out to me - I'll get an application to you:)

 

DHS Football Season Support Request:

Coach Lovingood acknowledges that members of our football team spend long days at school and in early and afterschool practices. To keep the team healthy and vibrant especially during this season of extended hours he respectfully requests and accepts donations of food. If any person or group is interested supporting the team please contact Coach Lovingood at jeff.lovingood@onslow.k12.nc.us

Donations listed below may be dropped off at the DHS front office. and will be picked up, stored and distributed by the DHS coaching staff:

·      Snack Crackers

·      Meat Sticks and Jerky type snacks

We've always wanted OSF to grow organically - word of mouth. In August we received 16 new Member Opt-Ins. Thank you for sharing OSF with one another. It's exciting to see "strangers" sign up and to wonder where they came from:)
